I just realized that I forgot to post about my new blog “Happily forever”. Yeah, I stopped eating almonds so I tend to get forgetful these days . I was planning to do it today (03-07-2021) but I got this brilliant idea… why not write about me being an inspiration.
Here's the link to the blog, in case you want to read it
Just yesterday, I posted this meme of “disabled people being an inspiration”. While many disabled people found it relatable, some replied saying I am an inspiration…
Here’s the meme for you
Talking about my being an inspiration, I did ask a lot of people about it…
Me – Why am I an inspiration?
People – Because you are doing things that we aren’t doing despite being abled!
Well. It’s a valid point but isn’t that just your inability? I have a job because that is what we were taught to do after graduation! I order food because I like eating, I work hard because I need the money, I travel because it makes me happy, and I go out alone because I prefer it that way!
All the things I do, well, I do them because I can! That doesn’t make me an inspiration!
Me having a degree is my ability, that is normal, and doesn’t make me an inspiration!
I traveling is because I have the money and the interest, it makes me happy, and it doesn’t make me an inspiration!
My writing is because that is the only thing I can do, it is how I express myself, and it doesn’t make me an inspiration!
Me trying new hacks to make my life better is the only way I can do the things I like, that doesn’t make me an inspiration!
Me laughing and smiling is because I can have a good time and disabled people can be happy! That doesn't make me an inspiration!
So, here’s my request, stop making me an inspiration because I smile, have a dark sense of humor, wake up in the morning, work out at times, have a job, and have dreams!
This is basic shit and we’ve to do it to stay sane! My way of doing things may be a little different but that doesn’t make me an inspiration!
P.S. The next time you see a disabled person, don't go to them and call them an inspiration just because they're breathing!
But am I an inspiration?
Let me answer that for you…
I could be an inspiration because I don’t give a lot of thought to the things I don’t have, I have my days when I’m low but most of the days, I look forward to the things that keep me going.
BTW, I wrote another blog asking if I'm an inspiration. You can find it here
