So I had a post scheduled to be posted yesterday, but then, I realized that it was the International Coffee Day and I deleted the post to make way for this one.

I am an ardent coffee lover but things were different a few years ago. As kids, none of us were allowed to drink tea or coffee and the same continued till college. This habit was good and bad at the same time. I would be forced to drink milk whenever I went to my relatives. Adding to this is my phobia for cold drinks :P

Yeah, so this might sound funny but I am scared of frizzy drinks. I don’t remember when, but the first time I drank a cola still haunts me. I took a sip thinking it was paanakam and the fizz hit me. That tickling sensation on my tongue scared me to hell and that was the last time I ever drank a cola. I think of this and let a harsh laugh at myself but as my friend says I’m “Nizam ki anoukha heera” so, I am excused to have these little oddities.

My food and beverage restrictions made it difficult for me to sustain in my social circles and I had to pick up a drink. That was when I started drinking coffee… er cold coffee. What started off as “social drinking” has now turned into an addiction! The mesmerizing aroma, the icy texture, and the bitter sweet taste with a dollop of whipped cream… ah heaven.
P.S: I don’t drink hot coffee on a regular basis but I need my cold coffee to keep the engine going. It is like my energy drip to get me writing.

It does worry my dad and he keeps complaining that his monthly petrol bill is same as my monthly coffee bill! But dad, coffee is my petrol.
